The overall architecture of the proposed system is depicted in figure-3.1. This proposed system is basically divided into two modules namely, hardware and software module. In hardware module, the microphones and the sensors namely the camera sensors and the sound sensors are used and in software module, the cloud computing techniques are used which helps in the transfer of data or signal from one device to another. In this architecture the sound sensor and the camera sensor plays a major role.
The camera sensor that is used in this architecture is CMOS sensor and the sound sensor that is used is Grove sensor. The CMOS camera sensor is installed at every signal in order to monitor the vehicles in the road, mainly in the peak areas. If the vehicles are jammed to a distance of about 30 meters ,it indicates the presence of traffic in that particular area by generating a signal with the help of CMOS camera sensor and transfer this signal to the Area Traffic Control System with the help of cloud computing. This signal is therefore received by the Area Traffic Control System (ATCS) and in turn it alerts the police of the traffic and as a result of this action, the traffic would be cleared.
